Lake Huron Mermaid Book Presentation

Empire area poet and author Anne-Marie Oomen and Grand Rapids poet and author Linda Nemec Foster will appear at the Oliver Art Center, for a unique presentation on their new book Lake Huron Mermaid, a tale of lost sisters, lost amulets, underwater sinkholes, and new-found love of Big Water. Oomen and Foster return to the Benzie County region for this interactive presentation that will intrigue both readers and writers. Oomen and Foster are both award-winning writers. Anne-Marie Oomen was recently awarded the Michigan Author Award for Lifetime Achievement, 2023-24, while Foster was selected to be the first Poet Laureate of Grand Rapids, Michigan from 2003-2005 and has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. This event is free to the public (donations appreciated).
