Join us for a hike on “The Ridge,” a new Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy (GTRLC) project that will help safeguard the water quality of Grand Traverse Bay, save wildlife habitat, and open up recreational opportunities. Enjoy a breathtaking view of Grand Traverse Bay and beyond, as far as Leelanau County and Charlevoix, and learn about the property’s diverse habitats. This expansive property could soon become a crown jewel in the area's outdoor recreation network. With an elevation of roughly 880 feet, it is one of the highest points in Grand Traverse County. The Basics Come prepared for a 1.5-mile hike on moderately strenuous terrain, which will take approximately 2 hours. We will walk over a 200-ft elevation change, with a steep climb up to the top and some unstable footing. What should I bring? We recommend hiking shoes or boots, poles, and long pants Dress for the weather! Always check the forecast in advance Bug spray for your safety and comfort Water bottle Consider bringing your camera or binoculars. Location We will meet on Five Mile Rd, Traverse City, MI 49686.
