DESCRIPTION:Start the New Year Where Art\, Nature & History Meet! Join Michigan Legacy Art Park on Saturday\, Jan. 1st at 11am for an invigorating art tour to start the New Year off right! Enjoy an educational hike with Executive Director Angie Quinn as she leads a tour over approximately two miles of hilly wooded trails to view the sculptures in the Art Park   each sculpture inspired by Michigan's rich history\, culture or environment. Located on a 30-acre forest preserve on the grounds of Crystal Mountain Resort\, the Art Park connects visitors to the surrounding natural world through the lens of contemporary art. The Art Park embraces the beauty of the winter season\, remaining open to the public every day of the year. The tour lasts under two hours and is free with $5 adult admission (complimentary for youth). Additional snowshoe tour dates are being planned as well. "An adventure through the Art Park will start the New Year off right   with a fresh perspective on art\, healthy movement in nature and enjoying good company\," said Quinn. "Not everyone realizes that we have this 30-acre preserve of the Art Park right here in our backyard that anyone can enjoy year-round." To attend the tour\, meet at the Art Park trailhead at 11am on January 1\, 2022. Be prepared for current weather conditions. Snowshoes are not provided but snowshoe rentals may be available from Crystal Mountain: (231) 378-2000 ext. 7000. If there is no snow\, it will be a hike. Those traveling to the Art Park from surrounding northern Michigan destinations can turn their visit into a day trip with apr s hike options nearby\, including many restaurants at Crystal Mountain Resort\, Gino's Sports Bar\, or award-winning craft spirits at Iron Fish Distillery\, all within minutes of the park.
