Witness the intense battles and quiet moments of reflection captured in these images and understand how one man's journey led him home while the other's journey ended in the ultimate sacrifice.\n\n"Paths of Fate: Stories of Sacrifice" offers a deeply moving exploration of the individual stories of Benzie County heroes that weave together to form the broader tapestry of history. Join us for this interesting program and discover the hometown human faces behind one of the most significant events of the 20th century.\n\nPresenter: Steve Veatch\n\nOriginally from Colorado\, Steve Veatch and his wife moved to Michigan\, where he continues to enjoy the outdoors\, research\, and write about history. Steve volunteers for the Benzie Area Historical Society\, works in the archives room scanning photographs and documents into the online catalog and is the vice president of the Board of Directors.\n\nThis presentation\, part of the Benzie Area Historical Society's Benzonia Academy Lecture Series\, is open to all. It is held on the second Thursday of each month at the Mills Community House\, 891 Michigan Ave\, Benzonia\; admission is by donation\, making it accessible to everyone.
