Bruce started his museum career as an Historical Interpreter at Fort Mackinac on Mackinac Island in 1989\, and later returned to work full-time for the Mackinac State Historic Parks. After graduating with a degree in American History from the Ohio State University\, Lynn was accepted into Eastern Michigan University's Historic Preservation graduate program where he studied Heritage Interpretation. Before graduation from EMU\, Lynn completed an internship at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and developed a real passion for Great Lakes maritime history. During Bruce's career\, he has worked for the Alfred P. Sloan museum (Flint)\, the Piatt Castles (West Liberty\, OH) and was hired by the Ohio Historical Society to assist with the creation of an economic impact survey of historic sites for the Ohio State Legislature. In 2015 he co-authored\, with award winning Great Lakes Maritime Photographer Chris Winters\, the book The Legend Lives On\, a richly illustrated meditation on the Edmund Fitzgerald.
